Development of Tonto Verde began in 1993. Of the nearly 700
acres available for development, approximately 351 acres were
planned for residential home site, 8 ½ acres were set aside for
commercial use, 9 ½ acres were used for a Community Association
owned Clubhouse, 282 acres were used to create 2 championship
caliber 18 hole golf courses and the remaining 18 acres were
used to provide open space and arroyos.
Tonto
Verde is an adult community and adheres to provisions of the
Fair Housing Act of 1988, ie.. one member of each household
acquiring a residential lot must be fifty-five years of age or
older. This requirement can be waived by the
Association Board, upon
petition. No person under the age of nineteen years of age is
permitted as a resident of Tonto Verde.
If golf
and tennis are not enough exercise for you there are nearby
parks with plenty of hiking and biking trails to keep you in
shape and provide for a great outdoor experience.
