North Heights and Eagles Nest Homes
In the northwest corner of Fountain Hills, the foothills of the McDowell Mountains define the character of the homesites and the neighborhoods developed to showcase some of Fountain Hills' finest homes. With hundreds of acres of open space located within natural desert washes and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, these neighborhoods are home to some of Maricopa County's most stunning desert botanicals and a variety of desert dwelling creatures from coyote, bobcat, deer, javalina and hundreds of species of birds.
The neighborhoods of North Heights and Eagles Nest were both designed with the concept of preserving the natural desert environment on each homesite. Home sites in North Heights range from approximately 1/3 acre to over an acre, with homes priced from the $400's to over $1 million. Eagles Nest is defined with a lovely gate house and a trailhead center that provides a nice jumping off point for the many trails located nearby. Eagles Nest homesites are a minimum of one acre, and prices generally start over $1 million.
The McDowell Mountain Park, located just to the north and nestled in the lower Verde River basin, is a 21,099-acre park, a desert jewel in the northeast Valley. Elevations in the park rise to 3,000 feet along the western boundary at the base of the McDowell Mountains. Visitors enjoy a full program schedule, over 50 miles of multiuse trails, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges. A stroll through the park will allow visitors to likely see deer, javelina, birds, and coyotes.
